Most moles are harmless. We check the ones that are new, changing or unlike your others with a dermatoscope, photograph them for comparison and remove only what needs testing.

Signs to look for

Asymmetry, uneven borders, more than one color, a size larger than a pencil eraser, or any change over weeks or months.

Treatment options

Dermoscopy and photos, so we can compare the spot at your next visit.

Shave or punch biopsy for anything suspicious, read by a dermatopathologist.

Questions we hear

Can you remove a mole I just don’t like? Yes. Removing a harmless mole for looks is self-pay, from $165.

Will it come back? A shave removal can leave a little pigment behind. If it returns, we look at it again.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Results vary from person to person, and every treatment carries some risk. A spot that bleeds, grows quickly or looks unlike your others should be seen within days.
