Your first visit
Your first visit,
start to finish.
About half an hour, one clear plan: what happens at a first visit, what it costs, what to bring and how to request a time.

About 30 minutes
New patients within 2 weeks
What happens in your half hour.
Nothing is rushed and nothing happens without your consent. You can keep your underwear on, ask for a chaperone and skip any area you like.

0-5 min
Check-in
Show your insurance card and photo ID. Your health forms arrive by text before the visit, so there’s no clipboard.
5-10 min
Your history
Your provider asks about sunburns, tanning beds, family history and any spot you’ve noticed, plus whatever brought you in.
10-20 min
Head-to-toe exam
Scalp, face, nails, between the toes and the places the sun never reaches, in good light and at your pace.
20-25 min
Dermoscopy
Any spot that stands out is checked under a dermatoscope and, with your permission, photographed so we can compare it next year.
25-30 min
Plan in plain words
What’s harmless, what to watch and what we’d test. Prescriptions go straight to your pharmacy, and costs are explained before anything is done.
30+ min
Same-day biopsy, if needed
A few minutes with numbing and a small bandage. Results take 7 to 10 days, and we call you with them either way.
Before you come in.
Nails & makeup
Skip nail polish and heavy makeup if you can, so we can see your nail beds and skin clearly.
Timing
Plan for 30 minutes. A first visit for acne, eczema or psoriasis can take up to 45.
Bring
Insurance card, photo ID and a list of medications, including creams. Write down any spot that has changed and when.
